No the teamsters can't fix everything, but they will fight in more ways then one to defend the officers against PROBLEMS ON THE INSIDE AND CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS ON THE OUTSIDE.the teamsters know what we are worth and that's where are leverage is.all unions are a buisness so choose one that we can get something back on our investment(KINDA LIKE THE TEAMSTER LEGAL DEFENSE PLAN).TEAMSTERS FOR ME

brown and afscme coming to terms on medical benefits and pay scales being altered as needed. ok and what about the other backdoor deals that 357 posted as far as a mrs. I know the teamsters are in trusteeship, yeah, yeah, yeah learn what it is first and then if you still have a problem take a good hard look at afscme, and you might just see that they were in trusteeship not to long ago. Ok, we can talk about afscme who undermined the clerks contracts by placing the words "operational needs" in their contract, which allows the county to do whatever it wants based on its needs,do you get it now vet your time in service will not mean a damn thing to you after that ends up in a ccdoc contract,or maybe if i can find some juice i can bump gundog and all his years of service to 3-11. the teamsters may not be able to fix all the problems, but they give us are best chance at a good contract(beat the county in interest arbitration),something map could not do in the late 90's(0-6 against the county in interest arbitration) for the sheriff's police, or for us a couple of years ago (the 2 extra days of bereavement time) just about 10 years of interest arbitration versus the county and that's all they could do, but i guess you could say they are progressing,i bet our chief union stewart thinks that was another great win for map kinda like their latest win against the county where the arbitraitor told map and the county to go back to the tables and work it out ,yep another clear victory for map. That is true for all of them, AFSCME, MAP and the Teamsters.you have constantly ignored questions put to you over an over about information that has been put up on the union thread.you come in with your buddy gundog never really saying anything, but complaining about information put up about the teamsters, or facts about afscme or map. We do need a union, but be wise and remember that unions have become business entities, and thus they do not serve their members as they should because they are too busy trying to stay in business. That is true for all of them, AFSCME, MAP and the Teamsters. I love my job, dealing with inmates is easy for the most part, we get paid a tidy sum and the benefits are great.

If you think that voting the teamsters in is going to end all the things that are wrong with this department you are at minimum a fool. Your profile says that you have 9 years on the job, a little less than my 12 but still enough that you should have more wisdom than you show with your posts. Just don't shoot everything, preach gloom and doom and give no direction for the future.ĭo nothing and shoot down everything: Rampant favoritism, nepotism, corruption, imcopetence, stupidity, watching the "View," telling your wife your job sucks because you got moved from your bidded spot because of "Operational Needs of the County" your spot was given to a rookie clout baby, etc.īetween you two, you got as much done here as MAP did for the Sheriff's Police and the CCDOC in 10 years, which is nothing! OK, then what's the point that you and gundog are trying to make? Are you saying that we are totally screwed no matter wht Union we go for and should do nothing? If you 2 guys really got a better idea, one with substance, direction and possible answers please, by all means, share it with the rest of us reading this.
